As part of our 10th anniversary, we are sharing articles from the last 10 years of our blog. This week I’m sharing my article “5 Essential Tips When Preparing Images For Print”. I still think a large print is the ultimate expression of photography, or my favorite expression at the very least. It can be daunting in the beginning when learning about printing. With the original article, I was hoping to demystify digital printing by introducing 5 essential concepts to help people understand some of the complicated aspects of printing. Once you understand these concepts it’s much easier get good results when printing your images.
These concepts include: monitor calibration, basic color management, soft proofing and hard proofing, sharpening, as well as luminance adjustments for each specific image. Check out the original article to learn more below.
