“That Life and Photography Balance”, B&H Photography Podcast Interviews with Erin Babnik, Sofia Aldinio, Colin Boyd, Erika Skogg, and Car Pelleteri
What happens to your photography when life gets in the way? Erin Babnik’s second appearance on the B&H Photography Podcast was recorded in New York at the Optic Conference earlier this month. Hosts Allan Weitz and John Harris interviewed Erin and four other photographers in an extended-length episode that combines the tales of tragedy, growth, and evolution that they all shared. Erin’s segment is the lead interview, about 20 minutes dedicated largely to her story of surviving the Camp Fire that destroyed her home and office in Paradise, California and how that experience strengthened her resolve as a professional photographer.
Erin Babnik is a full-time landscape photographer, photography educator, writer, and speaker. Immersion in the visual arts has been the one constant in Erin’s life, including an extensive background in various studio arts and a doctoral education in the history of art. Erin divides her time between Cascadia’s Californian southern boundary and Europe, teaching workshops and giving talks on both continents. You can learn more about Erin and her ideas about photography through a variety of interviews with her. | Erin’s Website: www.erinbabnik.com
